    Directions:

    • Dried mung beans 1 cup
    • Dried lily bulb 1/3 cup
    • Glutinous rice 2 tbsp
    • Sago 1/2 cup
    • Sugar 1 tbsp
    • Water 8 cups

    • First, rinse the mung beans, dried lily bulb pieces, and sweet rice under cold water. Then add them to a large bowl and cover with water. Soak for 8 hours or overnight.

    • Drain the beans, lily bulb, and rice, then transfer to a large pot with 8 cups of water. Next bring it to a boil, cover, and simmer for about 1 hour, or until the beans are very soft.

    • Add the sago to the soup after it’s been cooking for about 40 minutes. It will take about 20 minutes for the sago to cook (it will be translucent).

    • Now add in your sugar to taste. You can also refrain from adding sugar at this point, and each person can sweeten their individual bowls as they like.
