    Directions:

    • Chicken thighs 1 lbs
    • Soy sauce 2 tbsp
    • Ginger (minced) 1 tbsp
    • Garlic (minced) 1 tbsp
    • White pepper powder 1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp
    • Shaoxing wine 1/2 tbsp
    • Egg whites 1 egg
    • Sweet potato flour 2 cups
    • Five spice powder 1/2 tsp
    • Salt 1/2 tsp
    • Sugar 1/2 tsp
    • Basil 1 bunch
    • Vegetable oil 2 cups

    • Cut 1 lb of chicken thighs into uniform 2-inch pieces.
    • Marinate with soy sauce, grated ginger, grated garlic, white pepper, Shaoxing wine, and egg white. Mix well and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours.

    • In a small bowl, combine five spice powder, white pepper, salt, and sugar to make the seasoning; set aside.

    • Coat the marinated chicken evenly in sweet potato flour, ensuring no spots are left bare.

    • Fry at 350°F for 3–4 minutes, then add fresh basil and cook for an additional 30 seconds.

    • Sprinkle with the seasoning immediately after frying, and enjoy!
