Student Club & Ambassador Program
Terms and Conditions
Program Sponsor
The Campus Ready by 99 Ranch Market Student Club & Ambassador Program (the “Program”) is sponsored by 99 Ranch Market and/or its affiliated entities (collectively, “Sponsor”).
Program Purpose
The Program is designed to support eligible student organizations, promote Asian food culture on college and university campuses, encourage student engagement with 99 Ranch Market, and provide participating clubs and ambassadors with product support, club rewards opportunities, content opportunities, and recognition.
Program Period
The Program may operate year-round. Participation requirements are measured by school term, either semester or quarter, based on the participating school’s academic calendar and Sponsor’s approval. Sponsor may set application windows, onboarding dates, campaign dates, reporting deadlines, and other timelines at its sole discretion.
Eligibility
To participate, an organization must be an officially recognized student organization, club, or campus department at an accredited college or university; have at least 20 active members; provide proof of active student organization status; identify a Campus Ready Ambassador / Leader (who must be at least 18 years of age); have a faculty advisor, university staff member, or official campus contact; remain in good standing with the university; and agree to comply with all Program rules and Sponsor requirements. Food enthusiasts, cultural clubs, Asian American organizations, international student organizations, and organizations with strong food culture or campus community reach are encouraged to apply but are not required.
Campus Capacity
Participation is limited to a maximum of five approved clubs per college or university, unless Sponsor approves otherwise. Applications may be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis among eligible organizations. Meeting eligibility requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Sponsor may reject, waitlist, pause, or close applications at any time.
Ineligible Applicants
Individuals applying only on behalf of themselves, for-profit businesses, organizations not officially recognized by their educational institution, political campaigns or candidate organizations, organizations not in good standing with their educational institution, and applicants that cannot comply with Program requirements are generally not eligible.
Ambassador Responsibilities
Each participating club must designate at least one Campus Ready Ambassador / Leader, who must be at least 18 years of age, to serve as the club’s main point of contact with Sponsor. All Program requirements are obligations of the participating club as an organization, not of any individual student. The club decides internally how to allocate coordination activities such as communication, care package pickup, activation coordination, content coordination, roster submissions, club rewards coordination, and proof-of-execution submissions, and may rotate or reassign the ambassador role at any time. Ambassadors serve as volunteer club officers or members acting for their club; they do not perform services for Sponsor, are not subject to Sponsor’s direction or control in how club activities are carried out, and receive no individual compensation from Sponsor.
Monthly Care Packages
Sponsor will provide participating clubs with one monthly care package with a minimum retail value of $100. Monthly care packages may feature cultural themes, seasonal themes, student occasions, product discovery, or brand highlights. Care packages are subject to product availability, substitution, store availability, operational limitations, and Sponsor discretion. The club — through its ambassador or another club representative it authorizes — picks up care packages at the assigned 99 Ranch Market store during the approved pickup window; Sponsor may approve alternative pickup or delivery arrangements on request. Care packages have no cash value and may not be resold.
Club Activations
Each participating club must complete at least three club activations per semester or quarter using or featuring 99 Ranch Market care package products or other approved 99 Ranch Market support. As proof of execution, the club must submit at least five photos and one 30-second video for each activation, along with any required report form or recap requested by Sponsor.
Large-Scale Event Requirement
Each participating club must participate in or host at least one large-scale event per semester or quarter with an expected or actual attendance of 300 or more participants, such as rush week, recruitment events, cultural nights, campus fairs, food events, or similar approved events. Sponsor may provide additional assets, collateral, or product support at its discretion. As proof of execution, the club must submit at least 10 photos and one 1-minute video, along with event date, attendance estimate, and event recap. Sponsor may approve an alternative event format, a reduced attendance threshold, or prorated term requirements (including for quarter-system schools or smaller campuses) upon request.
Social Media Requirement
Each participating club must complete at least five social media posts per semester or quarter. Acceptable platforms include TikTok, Instagram, and Xiaohongshu / XHS. Posts may be published on the club’s social media page or an approved school or student group social media page, or — at the individual’s own choice — on a member’s or ambassador’s personal social media account. Personal-account posting is voluntary and is not required of any individual student. Posts should tag @99RanchMarket and use the approved campaign hashtag where the platform allows. Every Program-related post must also include a clear paid-partnership disclosure such as "#ad" or "#sponsored" as described in Section 12. Sponsor may feature, repost, or share submitted content but is not required to do so.
Content and Brand Standards
Participating clubs and ambassadors must create content that is accurate, respectful, culturally appropriate, student-friendly, and consistent with Sponsor’s brand values. Content may not include unsafe activity, offensive or discriminatory material, false claims, unauthorized third-party intellectual property, political campaign messaging, illegal activity, or content that could harm Sponsor’s reputation. Sponsor may request edits, takedowns, or removal of content that does not meet Program standards. Material connection disclosure: because participating clubs and ambassadors receive free products, awards, and other benefits from Sponsor, every social media post or other public endorsement made in connection with the Program must include a clear and conspicuous disclosure of that relationship — for example "#ad," "#sponsored," or the platform’s paid-partnership tool — consistent with the FTC Endorsement Guides. Sponsor will provide disclosure instructions in the ambassador toolkit, will monitor Program posts for compliance, and may require correction or removal of posts that lack proper disclosure.
Content Rights and Publicity
By submitting photos, videos, captions, recaps, social media links, or other content to Sponsor, participating clubs and ambassadors grant Sponsor and its affiliates a non-exclusive right to use, repost, edit, publish, display, and distribute the content for Program, marketing, social media, internal, and promotional purposes. Sponsor will not use the name, image, voice, or likeness of any identifiable individual in marketing or advertising unless that individual — or, for anyone under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian — has signed Sponsor’s written publicity release (Cal. Civ. Code § 3344). Clubs must collect signed releases, on Sponsor’s form, from each identifiable individual appearing in submitted content before submitting it. For large events open to the campus community, clubs should post signage or make announcements that photography is taking place and should avoid submitting close-up images of identifiable non-participants who have not signed a release. Ambassadors may be featured, named, or tagged on Sponsor social media or LinkedIn only with the ambassador’s prior signed consent, which may be withdrawn prospectively at any time.
Club Rewards Opportunity
Eligible participating clubs may request one club rewards campaign per semester or quarter. Each approved club rewards campaign runs for four consecutive weeks. Before the campaign begins, the ambassador must provide participating members’ 99 Ranch Market Super Rewards membership numbers through the approved process. Sponsor may provide digital campaign assets for the club to distribute. After the campaign period ends, Sponsor will review system-recorded eligible purchases and determine the applicable gift card award. The Club Rewards Campaign is a commercial loyalty promotion that benefits the participating club as a student organization. It is not a charitable solicitation or charitable sales promotion, and clubs, ambassadors, and members may not state or imply that purchases will benefit a charitable organization or charitable purpose. If a participating club is a registered charity, is fiscally sponsored by a charitable organization, or intends any campaign proceeds to be transferred to a charitable organization, the club must disclose this in its campaign request, and Sponsor may decline the campaign or require additional terms — including any written agreement, payment method, disclosure, or filing required under the California Supervision of Trustees and Fundraisers for Charitable Purposes Act (Cal. Gov. Code §§ 12599 et seq.) — before approval.
Club Rewards Award Tiers
Club rewards awards are issued as 99 Ranch Market gift cards based on eligible spending during the approved four-week campaign period: $2,000 and below earns 3% back; $2,001 to $2,500 earns 4% back; $2,501 to $3,000 earns 5% back; $3,001 or more earns 6% back. Sponsor’s system records will be used to determine eligible spending and award amounts, subject to the review process in Section 26. Awards are issued as gift cards rather than cash. Award gift cards will not expire and will carry no dormancy or service fees, and any remaining balance under $10 is redeemable in cash on request, as required by California law (Cal. Civ. Code § 1749.5).
Eligible Purchases and Exclusions
Eligible purchases are purchases tracked in Sponsor’s systems under valid participating Super Rewards membership numbers during the approved campaign period. Taxes, gift cards, returns, voids, fees, tobacco, lottery, excluded products or services, fraudulent transactions, employee transactions, duplicate activity, and other activity determined by Sponsor to be ineligible may be excluded. Sponsor may audit purchases and remove invalid or suspicious activity.
Super Rewards Membership Information
Participating members must provide accurate Super Rewards membership information if they wish to participate in a club rewards campaign. One student may participate under only one club for the same campaign period. Duplicate membership numbers or phone numbers may be removed. Collection, use, and handling of membership information are subject to Sponsor’s California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) notice at collection and privacy policy, which will be presented or linked at every point of collection, and — because campaign benefits are provided in connection with loyalty program data — any required notice of financial incentive. Personal information collected for the Program will be used only for Program administration as described in the privacy notice, retained no longer than needed for those purposes, and deleted upon verified request as required by law. Campaign results reported to clubs will be aggregate totals only; Sponsor will not disclose any individual member’s purchases or spending to the club, the ambassador, or other members. Only individuals 18 years of age or older may submit membership information or participate in a campaign, and each participant must personally consent to participate.
Ambassador Certificate
Ambassadors whose club successfully completes one semester or quarter of Program participation, including required activations, large-scale event participation, social media content, reporting, and compliance obligations, may receive an official 99 Ranch Market Campus Ready Ambassador certificate. Sponsor may also feature successful ambassadors on social media and LinkedIn and may tag the ambassador where appropriate. Certificates, features, and tags are subject to Sponsor discretion and are not guaranteed if requirements are incomplete or violated. The certificate recognizes the club’s completed term and the ambassador’s volunteer leadership within the club; it is not compensation for services.
No Employment, Agency, or Partnership
Participation in the Program does not create an employment relationship, agency relationship, franchise relationship, joint venture, legal partnership, or guarantee of internship, employment, RISE participation, management trainee consideration, or other opportunity with Sponsor. Ambassadors and clubs are independent participants responsible for complying with their school policies and applicable laws. Participation is a voluntary activity of the participating club, undertaken for the club’s own benefit. All Program benefits, including care packages and club rewards awards, are provided to the club as an organization and not as compensation to any individual. No individual student is required to create content, attend events, make purchases, travel, or perform any activity as a condition of receiving any personal benefit from Sponsor.
Taxes and Reporting
Participating clubs and ambassadors are responsible for any taxes, reporting, permissions, or internal university requirements that may apply to benefits, gift cards, products, or other Program support received. Sponsor may require additional information before issuing benefits or awards. Sponsor may require a completed IRS Form W-9 from the club or its host organization before issuing an award and may issue information returns (e.g., IRS Form 1099) where required by law.
University Rules and Approvals
Participating clubs are responsible for complying with all applicable university rules, student organization policies, facility rules, event requirements, food distribution rules, fundraising rules, social media policies, and approval processes. Sponsor may require proof of university approval for certain events, tabling, sampling, or fundraising activities.
Safety, Food Handling, and Allergens
Participating clubs are responsible for managing events safely, following university food distribution policies, communicating allergen risks when appropriate, and ensuring that food is handled and distributed in a safe and responsible manner. Products may contain or come into contact with allergens. Sponsor is not responsible for improper storage, handling, distribution, or consumption after products are picked up by the club. Clubs must obtain and document any university and local health-department approvals required for food distribution or sampling before the event, and Sponsor may require proof of approval as a condition of Program support. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights under applicable law.
Disqualification and Suspension
Sponsor may suspend, remove, or disqualify any club, ambassador, member, or participant that violates Program rules, submits false or misleading information, fails to complete requirements, misses deadlines, misuses Sponsor assets, engages in fraud or abuse, violates university policies, or acts in a way that may harm Sponsor, the Program, or the community.
Changes to Program
Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel, terminate, or change the Program, eligibility criteria, benefits, requirements, care package details, club rewards tiers, award structure, deadlines, participating stores, or any other Program details at any time, subject to applicable law. Sponsor will give participating clubs reasonable advance notice (normally at least 14 days) of material changes, and no change will retroactively reduce an award for a Club Rewards Campaign already completed or in progress or withdraw benefits already earned for a completed term.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sponsor and its affiliates are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, misdirected, delayed, or undelivered applications, submissions, reports, social posts, proof materials, or communications; technical issues; platform outages; university cancellations; event disruptions; product availability changes; or other circumstances outside Sponsor’s reasonable control.
Final Decisions
Sponsor reserves the right to interpret these Terms and Conditions, verify compliance, determine eligibility, approve or deny participation, calculate club rewards awards, and make final Program decisions in its sole discretion, subject to applicable law. If a club disagrees with an award calculation or an eligibility determination, it may submit a written request for review within 14 days of the determination, and Sponsor will review supporting records and respond in writing within a reasonable time. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions and the Program are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
